Versa 3 is tracking heart rate even when not wearing it

After the steps counting issue finally being sorted, it appears another glitch has occurred, the heart rate does not seem accurate at all. Completely fluctuates during exercise and even when I take the fitbit off, it displays a heart rate of 60 - 82?! Is anybody else experiencing this? I have restarted twice. I only bought this watch a month or so back, fitbit newbie, kind of regretting it!

Hi @ErinIsobella - did you try to restart the watch by holding the watch button for 10 seconds till the display blanks or it vibrates and wait for it to restart.

In some cases it can continue to display the last heart rate, or even detect a heart rate from the very sensitive optical detector depending on conditions.

If it is actually faulty a warranty replacement may be possible, please contact Support, Product help, Contact us (at the bottom), via the link below when viewing the post in the forum.

Hi there, @ErinIsobella. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is still tracking your HR even when not wearing it. I understand your concern, we're here to help you!

As @Guy_ has mentioned, sometimes your Versa 3 can't detect you have taken it off, and it sees what it thinks is your pulse. Note that if you remove your watch from your wrist but it keeps moving, for example if you put it in a pocket, backpack, purse, night stand table, or somewhere where there are sort of vibrations, the watch may display an erroneous heart rate reading.

I'd recommend taking a look at these help articles How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device? and What factors can affect my heart-rate reading on my Fitbit device?
