Versa 3 is losing steps after syncing

I have been using my versa 3 for a week now. Both yesterday and today my steps went from 8000+ to 7000+. I've looked at similar posts and it appears this happens when you've manually logged something, however, I've done absolutely nothing with both my phone and the watch and this keeps happening. 

 

What could be the issue, please if anyone can help.
