Hey there. Me versa 3 has been frozen on the Home Screen for the past few days and nothing I have found has been able to fix the glitch.

I have charged the device, pushed and prodded it all ways but it is still stuck. When I hold the button in it vibrates, the screen goes dark then the Home Screen comes back on but nothing. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, @darren_s. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out. @Guy_ Thanks for your advice!

Please note this issue comes from performing a factory reset without first unpairing your Fitbit device from your Fitbit account and phone's Bluetooth settings. With that being said, I suggest following the steps below in the order listed (or making sure you've done them as instructed):

  • Unpair your Versa 3 from your phone's Bluetooth and also make sure it's no longer connect to your Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 3 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 3.

If you can't get started with your Versa 3, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hi @darren_s  - there are solutions posted under "stuck on logo" in the forums, have a look at those because it depends on what caused this issue.

Why is this the best answer?  Most of us are not performing a factory reset.  Our Versa 3's just decided to stop working and get stuck on the logo screen.  Mine will not turn off, it will not restart (no matter how long I hold the button).  It stopped working at 137AM - I was asleep.  I was not resetting my device, I was not on my phone/fitbit app....I was asleep.  I suspect my Versa 3 was getting an automatic update and for some reason, it did not complete the process.  I looked on another site and they suggested letting the device die, rechange and hope for the best.  My Versa 3 is over a year old and I'm sure it is not covered by any warranty.

Just wanted to add that I was offered a discount from Fitbit to purchase a new watch.  They don't offer the Versa 3's anymore but still sell the Versa 2.  This tells me that there is a known problem.  I was expecting the Versa 4 to be a little better than my 3.....I actually lost some capabilities with the 4!  For being (in essence) a Google device now, it does not play well with Google services - prefers to pair with Alexa (which I don't have), does not allow voice control from the watch anymore - "Hey Google, turn off the lights." etc.  Also, as mentioned before, I received a discount to purchase a new device - I received a 35% coupon code.  Nearly 3 weeks later, my husband's Versa 3 died the same way - he got a 40% discount!  Not much more, but why the difference?!  I let customer service know that I plan on trying Garmin and selling my Versa 4.  I'm done with Fitbit.
