Hi, I got an email yesterday morning saying my Fitbit battery was low. I charged it all day and it remained flat. The only thing I can see on the screen is 0% in red but it is making a connection noise when I connect the USB plug to my laptop. I have tried different charging port, I’ve cleaned both parts and I’ve tried to restart but nothing happens.
Any advice will be gratefully received.

Same here - just happened to me yesterday. I'm trying to find a solution. It's not recharging and I've done everything you've done too.

Hi there, @minxymoo21 @Marathon50. It's nice to see you guys around the forums. Welcome! Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit devices are still not charging. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!
As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa 3 devices. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.
With the above being said, please sync your Versa 3 and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed:
- Don’t plug the Fitbit device into the charging cable.
- Press and hold the button for about 8 seconds until the screen turns off.
- After the screen turns off, you’ll feel a short vibration:
- When you feel the vibration, release the button and immediately press and hold the button again.
- Wait until the blue logo appears, then disappears:
- Immediately release the button and then immediately press and hold it .again, until you feel a vibration.
- After you feel the vibration, release the button.
- This vibration indicates you started the factory reset.
- After the Fitbit logo appears, the Fitbit device shows the image with the phone icon and setup indicator.
Once the above has been done, you can now proceed to set up your Versa 3 again by following the steps provided here How do I set up my Fitbit device?
Once the above has been done, please charge your Fitbit device as you normally do and see how it goes. On a side note, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:
- Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
- Use only UL-certified wall chargers
- Avoid USB battery packs
- Charge at room temperature
For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:
- A computer
- A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
- A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

Thank you for the response; however, my fitbit is completely dead. It will not take a charge. Any other ideas?

@Marathon50 I'm sorry to hear that the issue persists. Since you tried the steps I recommended here and they didn't work, you have a Versa 3 and report experiencing a battery issue, I need additional information from you that would best be shared privately. I’m sharing a link to a form for you to fill out so we can look into this further.
This form is only meant for you to use, so let me know once you’re done. Click here to get access to it.
