Versa Active Minutes

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got my Versa in the mail today and was so eager to get started using it. This is my first fit bit to own and I couldn’t wait to start using it. However, active minutes will not pick up and it’s quite frustrating. I just wanted to share the problem here and follow along with any responses or suggestions to solve the problem. I have restarted and followed other troubleshooting ideas that I’ve read about online. Thanks in advance!

@sarahpsmith Not all exercises will earn you active minutes. For instance, a stroll may not. Your heartrate needs to be elevated which translates into elevated METs. Please read more about active minutes and METs here. On the other hand, if you're sure you're building up sweat and exercising and not earning active minutes, please make sure your heart rate is being tracked properly. Perhaps you could post a few screenshots of heart rate recordings from your Fitbit mobile app? In the app you can see a chart for each day. It's also a good idea to reboot the tracker several times by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes.

Thanks. I’m a runner and get my heart rate up often. But I’ve only had this Versa since this afternoon and tried a few times to get my heart rate up and did. But it still didn’t record even a single minute as being active. I’ve tried to insert a screenshot but it is having trouble posting. My heart rate was aroubs130 for several minutes and you’d think that would have registered?

@sarahpsmith Yes, that should qualify. Try toggling OFF and back ON Heart Rate monitoring on your Versa with the reboot in-between. To go to Heart Rate monitoring, tap Settings on your Versa, then scroll down to Heart Rate. To reboot Versa, press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo flashes. As per photos, try inserting them using a browser.

Thank you for the suggestion. 🙂 I just tried that and then ran around the dining room like a crazy person ha to see if it fixed it. I got my HR up to 120 or so for a few minutes and still nothing showed up. I’ll try troubahooting more tomorrow.

@sarahpsmith If my memory doesn't fail me, Fitbit will credit you for 10 minutes at a time. So you may not get 1 or 3 minutes even for that crazy run! haha 😄 Perhaps a nice jog tomorrow to see how HR monitoring goes on? Tighten the watch belt, too. Good luck!

Fitbit will only give you active minutes if you have been active for ten or more minutes. For example, if you run for 5 minutes, this will not give you any active minutes. But if you run for 15 minutes then Fitbit will give you 15 active minutes. The Fitbit app says: "Active minutes are periods of moderate activity done for 10 minutes or more.
