Versa - Counting Steps on Motorcycle

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I am on my motorcycle the Versa is racking up steps.  While it is cool to show 15k+ steps for the day, 10k of those were sitting on my motorcycle.

Short of turning my Versa off when on a ride, how do i make it stop recording steps on my motorcycle?

Welcome to the forums @DanteMc ! I am sorry for the delayed response.

Thank you for sharing your experience with your Fitbit Versa tracking steps when you're on your motorcycle. Please take in consideration that Fitbit has worked hard to make sure that our devices do not pick up false steps or activity recordings while driving a car or a motorcycle. However, bumpy trails can sometimes cause your device to register extra steps. You can remove the steps from your daily total by manually logging the driving activity for the time you were in a vehicle or on the motorcycle. For more information see How do I edit or delete Fitbit data and activities?

I'll be around if you need further help! Robot Happy

Don’t take this the wrong way but that is a lame answer!!  I am not a trail rider and I do not know what kind of roads you drive on but 10,000+ steps, that is an absurd amount of steps.

So so your saying that every time I get on and off my motorcycle which could be 4 to 12 times a day depending upon my activity, I have to very inconveniently write down my steps, tally all the bogus steps at the end of the day and then log in to deduct them from my daily count?  I have to do this every day!?!

I think Fitbit can do better.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Multikiwi93. It's nice to see you around @DanteMc .

@Multikiwi93 thank you for sharing the difficulty you're experiencing with logging driving activity. You should be able to find the driving activity from the list that appears when you click on the field to enter the type of activity. Please verify.

@DanteMc Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I totally understand how you are feeling. Our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome. Driving and other activities can sometimes cause your device to register extra steps as mentioned in this help article: Will my device pick up steps when I’m in the car or riding in a vehicle? You can try changing the Wrist Placement setting in your Account settings to Dominant to make your device less sensitive.
