Versa Exercise tracker not syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, have been having problems off and on with my exercise tracker. Today I went for a walk of more than one hour. In my fitbit app the steps and floors appear correctly, but nothing about the specific walk. My wife has a versa, same phone (galaxy s8) and same app, and hers is syncing perfectly. We were both carrying our phones during the walk.

I deleted and reloaded the app several times with no change.

I tried closing the app, switching off bluetooth and restarting the phone and restarting everthing without success.

I tried with the reset of the watch, but no change.

Anybody have an idea? Help would be much appreciated?

Mine is doing the same thing, just received it a couple days ago. I've even uninstalled/ installed the app, works for a second, then tells me that my Versa is not connected. The watch works fine, have tried everything under the sun. Let me know if you see a solution, thanks!

I found the solution for me. I unpaired from the app any previous device I had and also logged in from my computer instead of on the phone. It worked! Everything is syncing beautifully now, first time!  Let me know if that works for you.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I'd keep it synced and paired with your phone, I just deleted older fitbit models. Then I logged in through the computer. Not sure if this helps, looks like this is a common problem! Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Yes, I am also syncing to both my phone and my iPad. This missing exercise data is still missing on both, whereas all of the other parameters are syncing just fine. Strange problem... Perhaps it’s too late to get yesterday’s data.I will check the next time I go for a hike to see if one or both of my devices will sync it correctly.  Will let you know. 🤞

So, went for a hike today and it was correctly synced to both my phone and iPad in the exercise tracker. Don’t really know exactly why it works again since I did so many things to try and resolve the problem. Now just have to see if the problem stays away long term. But if it reoccurs it’s probably a fault with the watch and not the apps since I am now syncing to both Android and iOS.

In any case thanks much for your help!

I'm here because mine did the same thing last night when I went for a long walk.  All the steps were there but it didn't calculate as exercise & my heart rate wasn't there. Maybe it's because my band wasn't on my arm tight enough? The problem I have is that when it's tight enough to track my heart rate, if I'm REALLY working out, my hand/wrist movement will pause the workout. OR like this morning, turned the workout off. I'm wondering if there is a "lock" for workouts specifically for this reason?

Inetersting thought concerning the tightness of the band. Sometimes I tighten it one notch more or less, but never thought it might influence the syncing of the exercise. I’ll try and be consistent and see the result. In any case, I don’t really work out, just take long walks... not as young as I used to be! 👨🏻‍🦳

Hey @Aquafan, I will appreciate your update in regards of this, I hope your Versa continue to record and syncing your exercises. Let me know how it goes!

@kellysf welcome aboard! There are two ways of recording certain exercises on your Versa. One is automatically tracked, when you are doing some exercises such as walk, run, or swim after only 10 minutes of movement and kinda intense, then they will be automatically tracked, and when you sync your Fitbit, you'll see them on your account. The other way, is by selecting the exercise you want to perform. Take a look at the information in this help article: How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device? So I'd like to know which one of those are you using and if your exercises are syncing after adjusting your Versa band.

I'll be around!

My Fitbit also stopped logging days of exercise. Last day it worked was 2/7 . I have restarted both phone and fit bit, unpaired it...repaired it, deleted up and redownloaded app.  Nothing has worked . Suggestions?

Hi Frizzilox, sorry to hear about your problem. Mine was fixed but the same problem has just reoccurred. I.e. my exercise tracker did not sync today. All of the other pararmeters sync just fine. I have tried everything again, playing with Bluetooth, switching off phone, uninstall and reinstall of the app, unpairing and pairing again, reset of watch, but to no avail. I am syncing to both Android and iOS and the result is the same.

My wife has the same watch, same phone, took the same walk, and hers syncs fine. I have to assume there is a problem with the watch itself and will try to get it fixed under guarantee.

Hey Heydy,

pls see my response to Frizzilox below. So, no, my problem has reoccured. What I have done as a last resort is to do a factory reset. I have not yet done the setup but will try this evening. Hope that helps, otherwise will take the watch back under guarantee and hope it gets fixed.

So, just to update. The factory reset worked. Had to try and pair umpteen times, but a walk I took today was synced ok. Cross fingers that it lasts! In any case, the major weakness of the versa is the syncing with the phone apps. If that can be made consistent and reliable, thyt would be great.
