Versa HR not working properly

I received the Versa HR for Christmas after using the Charge HR for about 4 years. Since then I have been sent at least 3 replacements due to the heart rate monitor not working properly. I have a tattoo on the arm that I have always worn my Fitbit on and up until the Versa, it never caused any problems. I would contact Fitbit customer support again but I feel that they will just send me another one that isn’t going to work. Has anyone else been experiencing these same problems? It drops my heart rate while I’m working out. It only reads my sleep part of the time and I have sleep apnea so I really used this feature to make sure I was getting adequate sleep. I’ve have done all the troubleshooting time and time and time again but to no avail. I hate to give up on Fitbit but knowing that they all contain the same monitor I may be forced to explore other options.

Although it probably won't help, I got the Charge 3 in November after having the Charge. Charge HR and Charge 2 and had the same problems with it missing chunks of HR data, sometimes during exercise but at other times.  I tried everything (I also have a wrist tattoo which wasn't a problem for the 2), tried wearing in in different positions on both wrists and ended up having 2 additional replacements, all exhibiting the same problem.  I ended up sending everything back, getting a refund and going back to my (slightly battered) Charge 2.  Then that died completely and irretrievably last week 😞  I've now cashed in some vouchers and splashed out on the Versa special edition in the hope that this won't have the same problems.  I'm not holding my breath just yet though, especially as I've just spotted a couple of gaps today (day 3)

They said the HR upgrade is across the board on the Charge HR 3, the Versa, and the Ionic. Mine was a gift so I am unable to return it for a refund. 
I hope the limited edition works better but the sounds of it, it’s gonna act the same.
