Versa - Heart Rate Measuring over 140bpm

My Versa Friday morning started recording my HR at 140 even when at rest. Afterward, it stopped recording heart rate altogether (no green lights at all).

I tried

Restarting the device

Toggling off heart rate in settings, restarting the device, then turning it back on

Factory reset

Reinstalling the Fitbit app

Unsyncing and resyncing the device to my account

Afterward, I left it charging overnight (and used my old Charge 2 instead). When I woke up, the green lights started flashing and recording an accurate heart rate again. Unfortunately, after an hour, it again started recording a HR of over 140bpm. I manually took my heart rate and it was 70bpm. After restarting the device again, it seemed to fix it, for 30 minutes until it started recording high again. I'm so confused; my wrist is clean, it's snugly on the correct portion of my wrist, and it occasionally does work.

Yup it's totally died now. The touch screen started acting odd (like it was getting touched by ghosts). Then some lines appeared on the screen. Then the whole thing went dark and the green lights stopped flashing. Phone can't find it so it's not just the screen.

I have a sad stack of 3 broken FitBits now. It's very disheartening. At least my old Charge 2 only has a broken screen.
