The heart rate monitor is not accurate an as heart rate rises above 100 bpm is hopeless, like reading 20 to 30 bpm to low. Quite dangerous really.

Have tried everything suggested, still won't measure accurately with any consistently. Have checked it with a Nurse an also my Polar Beat, pity as it is convenient and nice to wear.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Barrygrant. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your concern regarding the heart rate accuracy of your Fitbit Versa. Our heart-rate tracking technology, known as PurePulse, is specially designed to give you a more complete picture of your health and fitness. As with all heart-rate tracking technology, whether a chest strap or a wrist-based sensor, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, location of wear, and type of movement. I recommend checking this help article about the ways to improve the accuracy of your heart rate reading: How do I improve the accuracy of my heart-rate reading?

If you haven't done so, I'd like you to restart your device as described in this help article. This will refresh your Versa internally.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

You are wearing the strap tightly 'but not too tight?'

The face is not under but on top of your wrist?

You still have the generic clock face & not a 3rd party one as these have been known to create issues?

Rear of your tracker is clean?

Did you read the user guide?

I have read the manual an understand where an how tight to wear it. I
realise that it doesn't like your wrist bent, maybe it is just me, but it
is not acceptable. Barry

Do you know about an Oximeter? Cost circa US$20 UK£17 (Amazon).  This wonderful little gadget is specifically designed to show 'at a much higher accuracy' your heart rate as well as your Spo2 blood oxygen saturation.

Having Asthma is why I too own and use an Oximeter.

I have no issues 'at all' getting a synchronised reading of my heart rate on both devices either during, before or after exercise.

Have a good day. I hope you get this sorted.

Buying a pulse oximeter, does show a more accurate heart rate, however, the inaccurate reading of the heart rate does not allow for the better sleep recording. Mine has worked well for months, both heart rate and sleep recorded accurately, now with no changes on my part ( type of band and placement) both functions are wrong. I’ve shut down the Versa and restarted several times without success.

My versa is not reading my heart rate accurately. It says my heat rate is 150-160 almost all the time. Never close! My resting pulse is at 69-75 but my versa shows very high. Anyone with suggestions??? I hope!?!!!

I called Fitbit support. After doing a number of things. Hey were able to correct the issues. Good luck!

The heart rate stinks on this...I can workout as hard as I can... And the heart rate displays 59...all of the time. Not even close to being accurate. I've noticed it for months...

I've had Fitbit products for a long time, and the versa by far is the worst...

Very disappointed...

My heartrate tracker suddenly went nuts today! I am a runner and have a resting heartrate between 55-60bpm. My Fitbit has been reading above 140 all day, showing I burned over 5000 calories (I wish!).

I've tried to shut off the tracker from my Versa, sync, turn it on, sync, and then restart it. Didn't work.

Any other suggestions? It has been fine until this morning.  I woke up and saw my sleep wasn't accurately captured. Then saw the readings all day. Took an ECG with a Kardia Mobile, and my HR and ECG were normal.

How to fix this? I haven't had it for a year yet!

I've been having the same issue for the last week. My BP has been consistantly above 150, it's showing over 8 hours in the cardio zone and several in peak or fat burn.  Resting heart rate seems to be stuck at 66 for the last week and it's not analyzing my sleep anymore.  I have the Versa 1, it's about 2 1/2 years old.

Rather than start a new thread I thought I would pick up on this old one. Having lots of issues with my Versa 2 heart rate monitor dropping out during exercise. This is super irritating as I find I am constantly stopping my workouts to check if the heart rate is tracking. I have tried resetting my device, moving it on my arm both higher and lower, looser and tighter and nothing seems to be working. The really annoying thing is it works absolutely perfectly for the first four weeks with no dropouts so I don’t understand why it has just started doing this. Help!

Yes, i just bought the Versa 4 and it never gets above 100 BMP when I exercise even though my old Charge 4 consistently showed me in the cardio range. It makes tracking Activity Minutes impossible and probably hurts the accuracy of the Sleep Score. May need to return it and try something else.
