Hello, I was given this watch as a gift (thankfully, I could not imagine spending money on something that works as poorly as this does) after my mom upgraded away from the Fitbit brand.
I've spent hours on these forums and managed to get past the red X stage only after plugging it into my Win10 laptop and pairing it to the Windows app, it technically works but the firmware update didn't take, so I can't install things like Spotify which was my main interest. I'm not sure if I got any error message because it took so long I fell asleep.
After pairing back to my phone (Pixel 1 running latest Android 10 vers) I realized I'm still on version 38.33.1.30 with no option to check for an update. I paired the device again to my computer with no difference.
Yes, I restarted and unpaired and uninstalled the app, the entire song and dance.
I was on the fence about using a smartwatch but wanted to give it a fair shot, and this headache is a very good case for letting it live in the drawer.

Fun update! Fitbit support lied and attempted to convince me that my device actually was up to date, despite the fact that I'm capable of reading numbers. So that's how highly they think of you as a customer.
