Versa Lite not syncing

I have been battling with Fitbit since buying my Versa Lite in July. I have spent easily 15 hours on this process now.  Including them shipping me a new one (after I had to ship back to them first and it took 2 1/2 weeks shipping time which put me out of a watch for a month) Today I downloaded my android update with optimism.  And it did not work. deleted everything off my phone, revoked all my access, did a factory reset on my Versa. I tried again.

Nothing will sync and My Fitness Pal gave an error and that was the final straw. I just purchased a Garmin Forerunner 35, Easy-to-Use GPS Running -- for sale for $99 and it has GPS which means it will work for Strava and I save myself $60 once I return this garbage.

This was my 4th Fitbit device and I was a loyal customer. The support I received was horrible, they are knowly selling defect devices with huge syncing errors but yet keep on pushing out new devices w/out any care of concern for their old ones working.

For record my connection was the following:
Samsung S9--with all the latest updates

Versa Lite --with all the latest updates
