Versa Lite not tracking all steps and pace is about half

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Recently my Fitbit versa lite is tracking my pace at about double. e.g. saying that I'm doing 29' miles when I'm actually doing 15' miles on my walk. Hence it's also not counting all my steps. I compared to using Strava, both which use GPS.. How do I fix this?

I'm not sure how to fix, steps are counted not with GPS but by looking at the arm motion.

Pace is determined by distance. You did not say if the distance recorded is correct. Is your stride correctly set?

Are you using the GPS with the Fitbit recorded walk?

Have you done a step count test? Take a walk while counting your steps then compare to what the Fitbit says.

Distance is definitely not right. It is registering about half of what it
did even last week on the same route.

The distance is registering about half as well. Even the same route as last week might register half of what it did last week and half of what the Strava app is.

Ok but where you using the GPS?

Is Strava connected to fitbit?

Thank you for your interest. Strava is not connected to the Fitbit. I am
using GPS on the Fitbit. The other thing the Fitbit keeps doing is changing
the lap. I have it set for one mile. And then when I start the exercise
again it changes to 3 mi. I have to change it every time. And of course
even though I go 3 mi it only tracked 1.6.

I have restarted the Fitbit 2 or 3 times. I wonder if I need to uninstall
the app on my phone and try that. Although I don't know why the steps would
be weird. This was all working more than a week ago. Strava and Fitbit were
pretty close on tracking distance. Strava does not track steps.

Did you try adjusting the stride length? Maybe that may help.

No I didn't. I appreciate your response. My issue is that something has
changed. I just don't get why after a year I would need to do that.
Something has changed with the device and it's not my stride length or my
pace. If anything I've gotten faster not 2x slower.
