Versa Lite -- only some settings are updating when syncing

Hi--

My Versa Lite isn't updating all settings upon syncing. For example, my Steps are being tracked accurately, syncing and updating on my dashboard and on the Versa Lite. But for some reason, my specific heart rate zones are not. My heart rate is being tracked accurately and syncing/updating yet swiping the face to show time in each zone is inaccurate. For example, my Fat Burn Zone has stayed at 3h 36m since yesterday (which is incorrect) yet my dashboard is showing 6h 1m in Fat Burn, which IS correct. (It also isn't shows 0 Days of Exercise when I workout every day--and my dashboard is showing the correct data.) My iPhone just updated to iOS 13.1 and I thought that would be the solution but it isn't. I tried powering it down, I've tried turning on and off the settings I choose to see, nothing is helping. I did NOT try a factory reset--should I? I see there is a FitBit Firmware update--is this the solution and is it a matter of waiting for it to "roll out" to me? Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

@Sherrgibbs I asked about firmware update because the new OS 4.0 is currently being rolled out for Versas. Please take a look here. It is a progressive rollout so you might have to wait a little. Once it's available to you, it will appear in the Fitbit mobile app. This should resolve the syncing issues. Alternatively, you can perform a factory reset (restoring to factory defaults), but this will wipe your Versa and you will have to set it up again. Before factory reset, make sure you have deleted versa from your phone's Bluetooth settings. To perform factory reset, open settings app on you Versa and scroll down to About. Tap it and choose factory reset. This will wipe all data from your tracker so it would be good if you could sync it first. After factory reset you will need to set up your versa again by tapping replace a device in your Fitbit mobile app.

@Sherrgibbs Yes, please wait for the firmware update and install it. ALso, make sure to install the fitbit mobile app update as soon as it is rolled out. iOS13 introduced a lot of issues especially around bluetooth which should be addressed with the new fitbit app update. For now you can try the following:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the back button until screen goes black
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions incl pairing
  7. Make sure Fitbit Notifications are enabled in your phone Settings. If they are switch them off, sync, switch them back ON, and sync again.

Thank you. I did all of the steps you listed and it hasn't changed anything. Hopefully, the update will fix it.

Out of curiosity, which versa firmware version are you running? Have you updated recently? Thx

It's version 33.1.30 and I haven't had any updates recently. I can't remember when the last one was but I only have had this one terribly long.

Thank you for the help. I considered doing a factory reset a couple of days ago but decided to wait a bit and see if the roll out helps. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the update, which will probably frustrate me and I'll factory reset. 😂 Thank you!

Just to update: I ended up doing a factory reset. While it wiped clean the data that was “stuck” and not changing on my Versa Lite, it is now simply not showing any data in those spots. For example, on my Versa Lite after taking a high intensity Tabata workout this morning, showing right now:

Fat Burn- 4h 54m

Cardio- ___
Peak- ___

yet in the app, the correct data appears:

Fat Burn- 6h 16m

Cardio- 37m

Peak- 35m

Syncing is working, my steps are updated correctly. I contacted support and was literally told NOTHING but to wait for an email. Received an email saying they are waiting for “a higher level of support to investigate.” These forums are filled with many people experiencing this exact same problem for (what looks like) months back; no solutions have been given. Very frustrating to spend this amount of money and not have it work nor have the problem addressed.

@Sherrgibbs Versa syncs raw data collected during your workouts via Fitbit app to Fitbit servers. This data is analyzed on the servers where the calculations are performed. This information is then synced back from the servers to Fitbit app and then back to your Versa. It means there are several back-and-forth syncs happening before the processed information is displayed on your watch. 🙂 Give it some time (several syncs) and make sure your Versa syncs properly and the phone has access to stable Internet connection (wireless or wifi). It should appear after some time.
