I've tried every trick, tip, and suggestion on every thread. I've opened the fitbit app on my phone before starting the exercise app on my watch but as soon as my phone goes to sleep my watch says "connecting" again, and short of changing security features on my phone I'm not sure what else to do to be able to track my exercise, which was the whole point of purchasing this watch to begin with. I'm sorry I ever gave up the Blaze! And had it been water resistant I wouldn't have.

You keep mentioning the phone, describing a problem with the phone, but no mention of the Phone model.
Did you disable power management for your Fitbit app.
The reason your gps stops is because your phone is shutting down the Fitbit app when the phone goes to sleep.

It's a Galaxy S9+. I have disabled the power management for the fitbit app. The gps never disconnected on my blaze so this is all new, and I'm still using the same phone.

Try moving the Fitbit app to the background before starting the GPS.
The Fitbit app isn't needed to be open in foreground.

I'm not quite understanding what you mean by that.

On My Fitbit Device too I am getting same display as “connecting” while using exercise app. Is it got resolved? If so, can you share the steps.
Thank You

It didn't work without me "waking" the phone several times (although not as often as usual) but, on the bright side, my distance tracker is much more accurate today than it has been.

Please also disable power management for Fitbit. Some android phones require this.

If I disable power management I can't restrict background usage. Does that matter?

With the later android os power management stops the Fitbit app when it gets moved to the background. If the app is asleep gps won't connect

It's still not working. I'm destined to not use the gps/exercise feature and just go with the auto recognized exercises from here on out.
This morning it logged half the distance but I think my steps are close at least so I have that.
Thanks for all your help on this!!!
