This is where Fitbit admitted to me that it was an App issue and was working on the issue and getting a new Fitbit wouldn't resolve the issue

That response is too vague to call it an admission. I would like them to come straight out and say....

there are issues with the firmware and we are looking into it.  If your are experiencing any of the below issues since the latest update rest assured we are working to resolve these and we sincerely apologize.

I know I won't hold my breath.

The only way I got a response from Fitbit was to go to social media.  They ignored all forms of me contacting them regarding my 3 week old Fitbit versa 2.

the moment I posted my complaint and dissatisfaction at their lack of communication and support on their fb page I got a response within 24 hours and a replacement watch is on its way. (Which I fully expect to have the exact same issues as my current watch)

maybe the only way to make our concerns heard is taking it to social media. Make enough noise in a public forum and they can’t ignore it.

@Salter77 That response is about a sync issue. There was a banner at the top of the forum about a sync issue a few weeks ago. It was corrected with an app update.

@MarkMM yes of course it was. That's why so many people are still having issues. And this reply from Fitbit was after the App update at end of January.

So intact for matter of truth the issue has not been fixed. Look at threads on this community saying the same, Twitter complaints and the Google Play reviews where hundreds if not thousands are saying the same.

Wouldn't be wasting my time otherwise with a Faulty Fitbit caused by Fitbit itself

@Salter77 I don't know. Both my Blaze and Versa 1 sync fine. If it was a current app issue, wouldn't I be affected?

@MarkMM obviously one of the minority without an issue. Lucky you.

Is a widespread issue still. As I say read this community, Twitter complaints and Google Play reviews for people with Syncing issues still.

Fitbit claimed issue fixed but unfortunately far from it

@Salter77 Yes,I think it's odd I haven't had a firmware issue in 5 years. They come out of the woodwork every time there's an update. Many are one time "me too" posters never seen again.

There was the one Firmware update where the power button didn't work right anymore, but the workaround was simple. Others were on here demanding an out of warranty replacement.

Would be fun to try a Versa 2. But I'm not buying one just to see if I have the issues. It's not a big enough update from the Versa1. And it's old enough you can expect ALL warranty replacements are going to be refurb.

@MarkMM I've had 5 faulty Fitbits in just over 2 years. Fitbit have even confirmed faulty each time so definitely not a case of coming out of the woodwork.

Argos where I brought from have said have had returns in past month due to a known issue via software update  and offered me an exchange but would've had to pay £80 more due to newer model. Argos did say that they know better manufacturers but I'm not allowed to mention competitors on here.

So definitely not people coming out of the woodwork but an issue that is affecting loads of people but Fitbit not knowing how to fix the issue. It's a true issue and if you've had a Fitbit for 5 years and had no issues then must be in the minute minority and not the majority

@MarkMM is the implication that we’re making this stuff up? Believe me I would love to still be in the woodwork but one faulty—and replaced, thankfully—Versa 2 and one now corrupted by a firmware update over a 5 month period has brought me out.

And these do not appear to be isolated instances.

@MikePC No, I don't think your ALL making it up. I have seen posts bragging about putting replacements on ebay, plus I haven't had an issue with my products? So I take this all with a grain of salt. I do believe if you weed out the one time "me too" posts, there's probably a couple hundred at best? issues out of a million? sold. Fitbit wouldn't consider that a failed hardware or software. And so far they haven't acknowledged anything.

Sorry you're having trouble. I sure wouldn't be happy if it was me.
