Versa Not Updating

Hi! 

I got the notification in my app that there was an update available for my Versa. I started it but nothing is happening. I let it sit for an hour and even kept my phone wake and it has made zero progress. After a little over an hour, I restarted my phone and the fitbit app went back to normal with the "update available" banner came back and I started the update again. And nothing is happening again.

 

My phone is right next to my Versa. Both are charging, and they're sitting right next to my wifi router.

Halp! I want the update! 🙂

 

I've had my Versa since launch, so this is the newest update, not the initial update.

I got the update notification today also and my update went well. Make sure your phone is connected to wi-fi, otherwise the update will take forever via blue tooth. Good luck!

It's on wifi, right next to the router. And it's fast wifi. 😞

I would perform a factory reset, then reinstall it as a new device.

SO apparently my phone switched to my home's 5ghz network which threw off the Versa. It only works on a 2.4 ghz network. That caused an error that made it impossible to update, even over bluetooth. So my fitbit sat here for 5 hours with saying it was updating with no progress being made for that stupid reason.

I am sooooo annoyed that there was no error message. It took less than ten minutes to update once I signed back into my 2.4 ghz network. I mean, how hard is it to have the update time out and give you an error?

Look on the positive side, you figured it out and got it right! Good job, and I feel your pain. A lot of this could have been avoided if the USB cradle carried data. Fitbit? Do ya feel me?

Thank you so much!!  I waited 3 hours and my update was no closer to being complete.  Sure enough, after reading your post I go into my  wifi connections, switch from our 5 ghz to our 2. 5 and within 2 minutes I was wearing my Versa fully functional!! Thank you for sharing.  You saved me so much unnecessary stress. 😁

wished it was that easy   I just got my versa so frustrated doing update.  Checked my WiFi as suggested (was hoping would solve but no!)  Tried 4 hours yesterday and have been trying 3 hours today still at 5%.  Deleted started over same results.  Think i will be returning tomorrow.  Thank goodness Amazon has awesome return policy.   i will be sticking with my old original fit bit. Hopefully Fitbit will improve the Versa on the next version was so excited to have this watch.

That is bull crap.  I should not have to uninstall and reinstall anything!!! That is what the updates are for.  I will never buy another Fitbit!  I never had this much trouble before and it is my 3rd and last!  Instead of improving it is getting worse!!!!🤬

My versa will not connect to WiFi!  Have tried multiple times.  Even though password is. CORRECT it just will not connect!  In hating this piece of crap
