Versa Problems- Music downloand and Pandora

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I go to set up Pandora and the Versa only works with a subscription account, not the free service. I am super unhappy this was not properly advertised.

So then I go to set up music. My phone app says I need to use the computer. I go to the computer and it says it does not support the music for Versa on a desktop I have to use the app. Hmmm. How do I get music. 2 choices that do not work that were highly advertised. I am a very angry customer. I want my money back!

#1. It does say that you have to buy pandora premium to download playlists.

#2. To set up music, Download the fitbit connect app on the pc. Just type “fitbit connect” and it will be somewhere. I think it’s here.

#3. You have to load music from itunes or windows media play.

Hoped this helped!

Have you tried the Microsoft download link to the fitbit app lately? It doesn't work.

Sorry about over-quoting your post in my reply. It was my first post on this forum and I went a little "paste-happy". I wasn't trying to be rude.

No offense taken. I was wondering about that though... Lol

So I did as you suggest and downloaded the fitbit connect on my pc but i cannot still figure how to get the music from iTunes into versa.  I connect the versa to PC but iTunes doesn't recognize it. I can't find a music area in the dashboard to manage the music.  Anything else you can lead me to.  thanks..

I’ll show you.

Make sure the versa and mac are on the same network.

1. Start fitbit connect

2. Select “Manage my music”

3. Put the Versa in transfer mode

4. Wait a while....

5. If it doesn’t start the transfer process after 3 min, continue

6. Click the settings icon in the top corner and press force ip address

Hope this helped!

Thank you very much.  I did figure it out-I had not downloaded fit connect on my main computer.  It does take quite awhile for the music to transfer but well worth it.  Thanks again.

Okay, this is going to be a long-ish post, but I feel the need to own my blunders, even if they embarrass me. There's a good reason I couldn't download and install the Windows Fitbit app from the Microsoft store. I'm an operating system control freak from way back during Windows 1.0 (circa 1985). I was learning to prune the irrelevant parts of the OS I didn't need from the 5¼"  floppies even then. So, fast-forward to 2018 and imagine the fun I've had pruning window 10.

Here's the moral of this story...

If you decide to eliminate WindowsStore using Power Shell, windows will let you do that. However, don't forget a year later that you did this intentionally. You did it, now own it. Don't get mad at Fitbit for introducing lame software that uses a Windows App as the launch platform.  They're trying to make it easy for all skill level users.  Don't get mad at Microsoft for not letting you download an app that doesn't have the necessary platform to run it. You deleted it.

Just bite the bullet and fix the bug you caused and move on. Stack it on the big pile of "lessons learned" most of us imperfect mortals have.

I disagree - Fit bit has created the worst audio setup I've ever seen.

Have the been doing this on all their products? I spent a good part of the  day, off & on, to link a Versa to my laptop and download music. A task accomplished on a GearFit2 in 5 minutes. And THEN it wouldn't pair with my ear buds. The Versa wI'll be returned tomorrow.

I have to agree.  had a gear s2, had an apple watch.  Love the fitbit for battery life and size, and did not get it for music....  BUT  it seems like in the year 2018 we should be way way beyond this.  This kind of interaction takes me back... to like.. the Creative Nomad mp3 players... and palm pilots.  The android apps apis at the very least has the ability to do file interactions on the phone.  not sure about apple... but probably does too.  But... the fitbit is also a wifi device...  so fitbit could also use that if it needed to, and just push music through their server and onto the device....

wonder if at the end of the day, fitbit simply doesnt care, probably makes money off the paid services, so why make it easy to do something else...  what really bugs me is, I already have google play music subscription, I am not going to pay for another one...   probably will just live without music on my wrist.

Really disappointing that you can only use Pandora with the paid subscription! I don’t mind the ads and refuse to be held captive to paying for the service☹️

Anyone with a Fitbit versa using an android get pandora to work with your paid subscription? I have a galaxy Note 8 and I have the pandora premium subscription and it still still not work on my versa! Crazy,  but that's the only reason I even wanted this watch and i'm beyond frustrated with this and ready to return.  And No,  I don't want to add my music from my PC. I want what that's advertised!

I just learned this to after I got my watch and went to set up Pandora I'm pretty pissed about it. All this money for this watch and they want me to pay for Pandora too?!

Yeah it sucks and after 10,000 steps of troubleshooting, emailing,  screenshots, recording progress... all advised by fitbit they tell me just last month,  "Oh, well we don't know why it isn't working when we find a solution we will send it to you." I said what's the turnaround time.. fitbit says,  "it's going to take us between 3-6 months to find a solution but no worries we will inform you of the solution during that time once we know what's wrong. " WHAT???!!!!! it's ridiculous!!!
