Versa Version 1 that darn update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So many threads with the same problems since the last update version 32.70.714

To see your version,  on the Versa go to settings scroll to the bottom and click the ABOUT tab.

Let's start with the battery going crazy or just up and dying.  If you shut your Versa off at night you will wake to find it about 30% less than when you put it to sleep.  Why would the battery drop 30% if it's off?  If I just lay it down and don't turn it off it will only lose about 5% battery.

The heart rate is no longer even close to accurate.  I'm finding mine to be about 20 beats off from the truth.  It was never perfect before but it was usually within 5% which is acceptable.  I compared it by using several pieces of cardio equipment at my local gym, that I've used before.  My Fitbit and the results were usually close.  This morning I was walking on the treadmill,  the treadmill had me at a comfortable 90 bpm,  the Fitbit had me at 130 bpm.  Guess which was wrong?

I wonder what the logic was but previous OS was removed and no longer available.  What a shame it worked.

With the release of Versa 2 it looks like they have abandoned Versa 1 and are hoping we will just get the Versa 2.   From what I hear that one is not performing much better.

It's my understanding that Google bought Fitbit, so why would I buy the Versa 2 that has Alexa on it?

Will Versa 3 come out with Google on it?  then what the Versa 2 hits the skids?

So here is what I'm doing

1. mentally compensating for the bad heart rates.  Hope I don't have a coronary.

2. Chasing my step goals.

3. Not turning my Versa off again ever and just charge it every 3 days.

4. Wait until Versa 3 comes out and read the complaints to see what's what.

5. Wait for the next Versa to go on sale.

6. save up for an over priced Andriod or Google watch.........

I will not be a victim of forced obsolescence.

@Cybdiver

I thought you had done the factory reset and was on the old firmware version that was actually decent and without any issues for the Versa VERSION 32.33.1.30.  Are you now forced to be on the problematic version?

Correct I had done the reset.  But then I foolishly thought maybe there had been a correction to the update and tried it again.  When I saw it was the same junk I tried to do the restore again.

Except this time Fitbit now loads the new updated version and there is no way to get past it.  So I'm stuck.

Oh that's terrible.  So Sorry.  Maybe it's the push you needed to get a different brand since there are other alternatives out there.

Yea there are users still reporting the same issues almost 3 months later....no changes to this firmware whatsoever...you would have thought a new firmware version would have been pushed by now but nope....not the case.

I don't see myself getting a Versa 2 ....same issues with that model that were never addressed with the original Versa.  Especially after the latest firmware that was specifically for the Versa 2.  Same experiences as with this version.....there were folks opting out of the the update after seeing all the issues.

I'm not feeling the love from Fitbit since it was taken over.  What was surprising is that Versa 2 was released with the push for Alexa and it was actually sold to Google the month before.
