Versa battery suddenly dying

Has anyone else experienced this issue: the battery is charged almost fully, let's say between 80-100%, and then suddenly you notice the watch has turned itself off and shows 0% when trying to reboot it.

This has happened a few times to me over the last few weeks now and it's starting to become annoying. This does not seem to be not a case of battery drain, I don't notice any drops in % it just suddenly switches off. When this doesn't happen the device easily lasts 4 days, with the exact same usage. So I cannot tell what is causing this.

Looking for some input before I contact support about this.

So you are basically saying that it's our fault and don't use it if you want it to stay charged!?!

Since I upgraded the firmware the other day my battery dies within 24 hours. I’m not sure if it’s the firmware but I am guessing it is

I have the same problem. My versa lite is less than a year so still under warranty.

The battery drain  issue started in the last couple of days. I spent almost an hour on a chat line with one of the technicians yesterday. I wasn't completely satisfied with our chat. I was on a community support page yesterday and this battery problem seems to be very common. The tech should have been more forthcoming about this common issue instead of wasting my time doing things that he knows isn't going to work.

Anyway I did all the things he suggested and charged the device overnight . I put it on  my arm at 9 am with 100 %  battery charge and by noon it was down to 7%.

I just charged it to 50% and rebooted it. I have it on my arm now to see how long it lasts. I want to be completely prepared before I call again.

They had me do the same thing as far as fully charge it and see how long it takes to completely discharge. They are able to see how long it takes to drain the battery. When I called back since it was under warranty still they sent me a new one and got it in a few days

Did you speak personally or was it an online chat. I’ve had it on charge since noon but now it’s not even charging

I call customer service. I did not do an online chat.

I didn’t call, I emailed and was given a series of tests to run. When they showed that the watch was faulty, I got sent a new device.

I bought a Samsung Active 2 in June due to my Versa not staying charged and customer service doing nothing to try and retain me as a customer. I love my Samsung and will never buy a fitbit again.

When I call that number I get a recording saying the number isn’t available in my area.

Thanks anyway
Carol

Update:

Thank you for that. I’m seriously considering switching to another brand. Does it work with apple products ?

It happened to me too. Then I realise it happens to many users. Perhaps Fitbit controls this remotely via application software so that you have to buy new versions every 2-3 years. I will go back to old school without wearing smart watches. 🙂

I had the insurance and they mailed me a new one. I can’t get my previous bands to work. Therefore, I haven’t wormed it in months!

I've tried all the Fitbit suggested tricks to reduce battery drain, (i.e. not use my Versa as advertised), the battery doesn't even last 15 hours. My Versa had been working well since 2018. After the last firmware update recently, battery life has significantly decreased. It's like built in obsolescence so I have to upgrade.

FIX THIS

Call them and if it is within a year of purchase they will replace it.
