Before I buy will a versa work with Oppo A73? (could not find another thread about this)

It's a gamble.

 

The A73 isn't on the list of supported devices at www.fitbit.com/devices

 

This could mean that it has been tested and shown to not fully work, or it could just mean that it's not yet been tested. As you say there are not many previous threads to give a real indication. Ideally someone with that phone will reply but, unless they do, there's a risk that it won't work.

Oppo Devices are very similar to the OnePlus (same company), I would expect for it to work but you won't get proper notifications....

The app works with A73. However, I haven't tried SMS integration, etc.

The fitbit versa is compatible with the Oppo A73 but I am having trouble with receiving notifications. Could I please have some help?

No it is not compatible at all.  It doesn't sync well and barely at all.  I just got an oppoA73 and it's not compatible with anything..
