Has anyone had luck drying out a fitbit in rice?

My Versa died yesterday - no flashing lights on sensor, black screen, can't re-start.  I initially thought the battery had died and so I charged it overnight but no luck. Then I noticed that there is condensation in the sensor.

I purchased it 16 months ago and expect better from a watch that was $250.  I have never worn it swimming or in the water - I can only think the condensation is related to the severe heat and humidity we've been having.

I contacted Fitbit Support and was given the 'You are past your warranty but here have 25% off code' response.

I can't afford a new Fitbit and am not sure I want to spend the money when they seem to chronically die just after the warranty period. Has anyone been able to use rice to dry out a fitbit?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @sjiggy  generally people dry the devices for at least 48 hours before charging it again. When you see the condensation has gone, be sure to clean all connectors and restart the Versa. It might take a few days for it to go away.  Yes, people have been successful in getting the moisture out.
