Versa converting steps to miles

Why does my Versa not convert steps to miles? Today I have 10675 steps and it shows 4.84 miles. In my life, 2000 steps = one mile. I've stopped wearing my Versa on my wrist - when it's clipped to my clothes it seems to be doing a slightly better job.

The Versa does convert your steps to miles but it uses your stride length to do that. If you have not manually entered your stride length then it uses your stats to estimate your stride length. If you find that to be not accurate then you should manually enter your stride length.  

 

Go to your profile page:  https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile and scroll down to stride length and enter the correct stride length:
