Versa counted 30,000 steps overnight

I have been using the Charge 2 for over a year and have been pretty happy with it. I bought a Versa last week and I have noticed it does not seem to work as well as the Charge 2. For one thing, it doesn't measure sleep very well. Last night I went back to using the Charge 2 for sleep. They were both showing 0 steps at midnight. At 6:00 am the Charge 2 woke me up with the notification that I had reached my step goal for the day. The Versa, while sitting on my desk, was showing 30,000 steps. This is ridiculous and apparently there is no easy way to delete these steps. I can't believe the Versa is so inaccurate. This was supposed to be an upgrade. I really do like some features of the Versa but I can't have this. I bought it from REI so I have 90 days to return it and I'm willing to try to work with it a little but if this continues I will be taking it back.

Thank you for the link. I hope there will be an update to fix this issue soon. It seems like Fitbit has had over 5 months to find a solution. I'm going to return the Versa to REI if this isn't fixed within the next couple of weeks.

I tried entering a driving record for midnight to 6 am and it did not get rid of the extra steps.

The Versa is going back today. It's obvious that this product was released too early. I cannot load music on it, it does not track sleep or steps accurately and there is apparently no real tech support available. I am so disappointed in Fitbit right now. I am going to switch to Garmin for fitness tracking.

Returning is a good choice.  My 4th replacement is in the mail to me right now. Unfortunatey, I waited to see if they would fix it and went past my return window. I get ghost steps every single day...

I hope the replacement works better for you. I returned mine yesterday and went back to the Charge 2 for now.

FitBit finally agreed to refund my purchase after Versa number 4 also failed to be at all accurate in counting steps. 10s of thousands of extra steps is unacceptable.
