Versa counts steps even when I am driving!

Hi,I am from India and have paid about 250 dollars equivalent to get this watch.I am disappointed by its functioning. The steps while walking are accurate but it even counts steps when I am driving! It gives me badges of climbing some 30 odd floors when I haven't climbed a single floor!I even tried the option of dominant hand but to no avail. So my question is,is this a hardware issue or a software one? It's clear I am not the only one having this issue so it will be wrong to say I got a defective product. Also can this problem be rectified by Fitbit?

I'm not sure about some of the questions you are asking, but I do know of a workaround to negate those steps when driving.  Add "Driving" as an exercise activity, then when you sync your tracker, those steps will disappear. You will have to manually add it (a pain, I know!), but here is how to do it.

Hi,
Thank you for replying to my issue. The only options I have there in tracking my activities is run, walk and hike. How to add driving? Also are you sure when I add driving as an "exercise" it will stop counting it as steps? Can you send me the steps to how to add it?The link you provided has nothing about adding driving as an exercise and how to go about it.

Go to the link I provided, then go to "How Do I Manually Add Exercise"....that should help.

To customize your Exercises to include driving, start by selecting the "Exercise" tile in the app. Then tap the little clock icon, followed by "Log Previous". Then in the "Search" bar, type "Driving" and fill out the rest of the form.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply in trying to help me out! I went in search and put the driving but its asking me the start time of driving and end time.If I have to do this every time I drive it defeats the whole purpose of owning a watch which I just expect to count steps while I am only walking or running and not driving! The solution you have offered will be of no help if I have to log in each time when I will be driving and when I finish driving!
