Hello,
I saw a couple other posts about people having issues getting their versa setup and I've tried their fixes and so far nothing has worked. Here's what I'm seeing....
My phone, a One plus 2, finds the versa right away and I get through two rounds of "Enter the number of your Versa's display." After I enter the second number, it just hangs. I let it go for over an hour on two separate occasions. After I force close and restart my phone's app, it says the Versa is linked to my account, but it cannot communicate with it and the Versa's display only shows the Fitbit logo. If I restart the Versa, it goes back to the welcome/setup screen.
Any advice?
Thanks!

You sure it's not an issue with the firmware update? If it shows you're linked in the app, maybe it's the BT connection.
If it doesn't show up in the app:
Try clearing the data or uninstalling the app on your phone. Then start from a clean install. Remember to have the Versa in it's charger.
If that doesn't work you have to try a different device for initial setup, Windows 10 if available.
If that doesn't work, I've seen a few people swapping hardware with the retailer due to getting a lemon.

Set your phone to be a WiFi hotspot then hook up to the phones WiFi.

I am having the same issue. Unable to complete set up on my Samsung S7 Edge. I have had 2 other model Fitbits that I set up with no problem. The Versa? I've been trying to set up for 2 days without success!!!

Hello! It is happening to me right now! I've been waiting for 2 hours so far and it looks like it is only 20% "updated" ... the thing is that I actually do not have a wifi connection (I am currently working abroad) and I don't even know how many MB the app is downloading!!! HALP!

Turns our my phone isn't supported by fitbit which is the issue. I was able to get my device set up using my wife's iPhone, but it simply cannot connect to my phone (Oneplus 2).
This is crazy to me since ever other blutooth device I've ever used doesn't have a limited list of devices that it works with. I "upgraded" from a Fitbit Charge that synced with my phone just fine. So that's a nice kick right in the pants.
You can check to see if your device is supported here: https://www.fitbit.com/devices

Great. Really disappointed to see this, as I just unboxed my Fitbit and was having the same problem... only to find that my phone is not compatible. I've been using it with my Charge HR and Flex. Giant waste of money, I guess.... now that I've unboxed it, I'll have to pay a restocking fee.

I have the same issue too, at first my Versa was working fine but its now 6 months down the line and it sync's once a week. Removed the device from the app. Restarted both devices, removed from Bluetooth and now won't reconnect, just keeps timing out. It's funny how there's no official response from Fitbit on this thread. It would be nice for an official explanation as to why there are soo many problems with this product. It is a poor example of customer service and even worse example of product testing. I will have to send back under warranty soon.
