Hi folks. Just trying to save somebody some New Year heart ache. The versa has the most fragile screen I have ever experienced. I thought it was a stylish upgrade from my faithful old Alta HR, but the screen smashed to bits and there is no way of getting it repaired currently. So if you have your heart set on one, either invest in appropriate insurance cover and expect to use it soon, or better still buy a different version. Really disappointed Fitbit Get your act together, as there are lots of competitors out there now!

This is a rare occurrence. I wouldn't generalize your experience.

I've had a Versa since January and there isn't a scratch on my screen, and that's after wearing it while playing football, swimming and mountain biking, so I think while you may have been unfortunate in your experience, it's not overly common that the screen smashes.

Thank you for your responses, but having checked through other posts I beg to differ. I remain disappointed but of course am pleased that you have working models.

Most of the threads on these forums are posted by people having issues, so you're not likely to find anyone posting here that isn't having an issue with their fitbit.

That's unfortunate, but none of my Fitbits with glass screens have ever cracked. I have one slightly noticeable scratch on my Versa 1 because I wore it while changing an alternator. The Versa 2 uses Gorilla Glass 3 which is stronger than what the original Versa had. If yours broke, it's either a rare manufacturing defect or you took one hell of a spill.
