Versa inaccurate stats

I just recently upgraded to the Versa after my Charge 2 stopped syncing to my phone. Overall I love it, but I have noticed a few weird things.

  • First, my stair count is completely off. When I got to work this morning after an hour in the car and zero stairs climbed, it said I had climbed 11 floors!
  • Also, once I pulled in the parking lot and parked my car, I got an alert that Smartrack had auto-recognized a workout of 17 minutes on an outdoor bike which I was definitely not doing as I was driving.

This is at most just annoying since the Versa is doing a good job of tracking everything else, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had these problems and knows of a fix?

Hey @LaurenBerger, it's great to see you here.

I am sorry to hear about the discrepancies you have been experiencing with your Versa.

Stairs: Your device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors.

Driving: Fitbit has worked hard to make sure that our devices do not pick up false steps or activity recordings while driving. Unless you're driving in a car with a very stiff transmission or on bumpy roads, your device should not give you any false readings. Since the watch is registering this with SmartTrack, keep in mind that you can always delete this record.

Catch you later. Robot Happy
