Versa is counting extra steps

My versa lite (just bought yesterday, first day of use) is counting steps I haven’t taken. 1,444 steps so far when I’ve taken about 200. How do I regulate it? It’s on my non-dominant hand and I’ve been still.

Please restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch internally. After this, monitor your Versa for the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.
