Versa is shutting down/restarting randomly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

OK, I've had the Versa a little over a week now. I am using the default layers clock face.

Sometimes when syncing my versa will just shut down. Other times it will restart to the fitbit logo, other times I have to restart it manually.

It's frustrating, as I don't want it to do this in the middle of an exercise.

Anyone else had the same issues?

Thanks.

I'm having the same issue. I randomly find my fitbit versa has shut down or is restarting. Haven't installed any weird apps. It happens at any time: sleeping, mid exercise or just relaxing on the couch....not impressed

I tried to factory reset it and start again, as someone said on the forum that it fixed it for them. However, when I factory reset it, it took about 2 hours to get the **ahem** thing to reactivate on my app.

Managed to get it working. Now, every time I try and sync, it's restarting and won't sync.

I don't know whether it's a bad model or if something weird is happening. I really like the watch 😕

I don't know if I should get it swapped, or whether I should just get a refund?

It happened to me during a GPS tracked hike, just shut down and lost my data 1/2 hour in.  I  later did a restart and it hasn't happened again.

The latest shutdown was while charging! Put it to charge at 20% and when I went to check it was off. It had charged up to 90%

Interesting. I've tried to reset it and I've done many a restart with the button combination, and it's still playing up.

I have an Android phone, the OnePlus 5. When I found out it wasn't on the list of supported devices (ridiculous really, as it only states Android on the box), I tried it on my laptop, and it wouldn't even pair to that. It says it supports the OnePlus One, but I'm not going to downgrade to a phone released FOUR years ago for my fitness tracker, released in 2018, to work. That is just ridiculous!

I also tried to sync it with my Apple iPad Pro 9.7, as that IS in the list of campatible devices. And it didn't work.

I think I'm going to go to the store today and exchange it. Then, if that one is alaso faulty, I am going to just give up xD

ALSO: Looking into the compatibility list, why is it that most of the Android phones which are compatible are from 3, 4, 5 years ago, yet it is compatible with the iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and even their latest model, the iPhone X? Seems a little bit like they prefer their Apple users over Android. Which is ridiculous, as the phones most people are using on Android came out the same time as the iPhones.

Samsung's latest compatible device is the S6 Edge. Sony's is the Z1. This is ridiculous!

Similar problem, following lots of on-of resetting, factory resetting, deleting re-installing the app and and all of that nonsense last week. It is still shutting down and restarting randomly or when it should be syncing.. Time on watch is out by 90minutes. It doesn't record my info every day, Last synced April 28th 17:06 so I've missed out on many many days (own it about 2 weeks) for gym info and hiking info etc. This is the greatest piece of junk / trash / rubbish, its not heavy enough to be a paper weight. If anyone from Fitbit reads this please respond and let me know what is the actual problem with your device / server / app...come on guys get it together.

Friends have noticed me wearing it and have inquired about it.. I've had to tell them "do not even think about purchasing one..." its embarrassing.

I am bringing this back, I will try another if offered.. as I really want it to work as claimed. If that doesn't work out then I'm finished with Fitbit

Returned mine to the reseller.

I now have a Samsung Gear S3 Classic.

This was my first ever fitbit, and I was so excited about it. Well, hey ho, I'll just be avoiding them. I'd heard horror stories from their customers but I thought I'd try. Maybe not again!

I had exactly the same problem.

What I did was to reset my fitbit to its factory setting and did the update/install again. However, this time I had done the install via wifi instead of bluetooth as I had previously done.

The wifi install took about 25 mins in total - my fitbit is now working well and I have not had any issues since then -  and I am also able to navigate quicker throught the menus.

Give the wifi install a try and see how you go - if your fitbit is not identifying your wifi connection, make sure your router is set to 2.4ghz instead of 5ghz.

This has happened to me twice this week-Saturday afternoon, and then last night (Tuesday) at the gym as I was getting ready to push start on it to start my workout. Very frustrating.

I have had mine exactly one year now and I am experiencing this behavior. Frustrating part is when it restarts in the middle of my workouts which has been the case for the past two days, hence I have no record of workouts for these days.
