Welcome to the Fitbit Community @popekoj. I am sorry for the delayed response.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing your experience and feedback on tracking your sleep with the Fitbit Versa Lite. I totally understand how you are feeling. Our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome.
Syncing is the process that transfers the data your device collects to your Fitbit dashboard, this is why you should sync your Fitbit device each morning to see last night's sleep stats. For more information about tracking sleep, please see this help article: How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
