Can anyone please tell me if the versa lite can receive emails?

The Versa Lite can receive email notifications from your phone (see https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1979/ ) but it can't receive emails directly as it has no access to the internet

No, they all need a phone connected by bluetooth to access the internet
