Versa not counting steps correctly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Versa about 7 months (2nd one in just over a year, first one was replaced about 5 months in).

In the last week or maybe two, I've noticed that my tracker will show the step goal reached display twice in one day. I will see that I've hit my goal, and continue on with my day, but then a few hours later will see the same display, and all the steps between the two displays haven't really counted.

So far I have done the latest software update on my tracker, as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and tried rebooting my tracker. None of these have worked so far.

Any ideas? I am missing my old school Flex because the Versa just seems to have issues.

@andrealynne719, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it shows the reached goal twice and won't count the steps taken between those 2 screens. By the way, thank you for trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I would like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful for this type of issues. Try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data. Finally, set up your Versa as a new device and monitor it during the next 24 hours. Check out if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Ok, it's still doing this. I went for a run this morning and took two pictures of my tracker (posted) showing that steps have come off my count. I added up the daily steps graph and it is close to matching the smaller number. However, it looks like I had two 15 minute segments in a row with the exact same count (1,575 steps) and that seems odd. Looking back on the last several days when I've noticed the step count discrepancies, I see several days where during periods of high activity, I have 2-3 15 minute segments in a row with the exact same count. I'm not saying that's impossible, but it seems very strange! And it still doesn't explain why my tracker will at one point show 7464 steps, and less than an hour later, only show 6342 steps.

Thanks so much for your help!

I'm still having the same issue. Just watched my count go from over 10k steps to around 9600 steps.

I continue to have issues. I noticed today after my run that while my watch said something around 7900 steps, the app hadn't yet synced and showed about 6400 steps. When I next looked at my watch, it matched what was on the app.
