Versa not counting steps

Yesterday I had 17k step before noon. 
I went on a bike ride at 1:47pm, started the biking function on the watch, got home from my ride and noticed all my steps were gone. It was down to 4K steps. Today my steps get to 400 and reset to  about 200 frequently. 
I talked to someone from Fitbit and reset the watch and it’s still doing the same thing. 
I’m reading a lot of forums and seeing this is happening with a lot of people.

Exactly the same is happening on my versa 2! I've only had this one a week as my previous versa 2 broke and they replaced it

Same thing is happening to me. This morning I1700 steps when I left my house this morning for my morning run, I went for a 3 mile run got home I had 7509, went I went to sync  my fitbit went back to 1700! I have contacted fitbit customer support on multiple occasions and they seem unwilling to help.

I was talking to customer support. I was told someone will get back to me and I’m still waiting.

same happened to me yesterday had 17,0000 steps in the evening it went down to 200 ...Today, it jumps to 200 steps then always back down to 81...VERY FRUSTRATING... I really don't want to do a factory re set

I managed to get onto chat, they said they are aware of a system problem
and they are working on fixing it couldn't give me a time frame though 🙄
they honestly didn't seem too bothered by it
