Versa not responding after factory reset

My Versa would not sync with my phone app or pc account, messaged Fitbit customer service who went through all of the troubleshooting again with me (I had already done this) and it still didn't work. Was then advised to do a Factory Reset which I said I would do once I had time as they have you on forever doing this and that...so, I have done a factory reset and now my watch is just showing the Fitbit logo and telling me to install the app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my phone and it brings up my usual account but the watch is still showing Fitbit logo. When I go to add a 'new device' to the app it cannot find my watch. I'm losing faith in this watch now and I am not happy at all, I've had it since May and it's been fine up until a few days ago. The message service seems closed now and now I have no watch and a useless app.

I found out I couldn't reset my Versa 2 FitBit after I did a factory reset by using, "what kind of device to reset", and clicking on Versa 2. I had to use "VERSA" only and click on that.

Mine did the same thing!!! I was told the versa lite had this issue but not the versa 1! I have been reading several of these! Mine never turned back on and they won’t stand behind THEIR glitch! Only offered a 25% discount ☹️ If it’s an issue with the product they should recall or replace! I shouldn’t be penalized. Very disappointed.

I may have to get an Apple Watch also. I’m so tired of all the problems. I could not get any notification so I’d done a reset, that did not work. Tried a factory reset not the thing wound event boot up. Time to change. I’ve given Fitbit a chance for a long time. I can’t even do quick response anyway since I have an Apple phone.

Hello to the Fitbit community!

My Fitbit verse was perfectly alright until a week ago it wasn’t syncing to my phone. Trying to resolve this issue I tried to factory reset the versa and after factory reset I the watch has completely stoped working and I have tried by all means to turn it on but is helpless. But the only point in time the display turns on is only when there is 0%battery. I hope this problem will get resolved in the next few weeks with a bit of help.

That happened to me also but mine is stuck on the red x and data not cleared and cant not be found when reinstalled if you find a solution please let me know just had my watch for a month and this happened.

If it’s brand new your warranty will cover it. Mine was six months out of warranty so I am s.o.l! I just feel since this is a software issue they should warranty them all! Just like a car being recalled! Looking into an Apple Watch. Shorter battery life but may just be worth it.😕

Thats happen to me too. How u can fix it? I have to do a factory reset and now doesn't want to turn on.

You can not fix it. While this appears to be a software issue. Fitbit will not do a recall or stand behind their product. You can call them and complain and they will give you a discount on a different product☹️ They said only the versa lite had this software issue. Obviously it’s also the versa 1.

You are spot on. Just an FYI Google bought Fitbit and that's when all the trouble started. Probably too much spyware

I bought a Garmin. Very bad experience with fitbit versa. It failed (died) after the latest firmware update and fitbit refused to do anything about it after telling me that their replacement warranty period is only 1 year. Piece of ****!!

Hi Marmaduke

My versa has been acting up ever since i factory reset it about a month ago and i have tried everything that you have suggested none of it has worked. 

I still cant get my watch to turn on. Not sure what to do now but i think that i will try to return it to the shop that i fot it from.

hi I had same issues I have contacted customer services and after trying to resolve this issue and failing they are sending me a new tracker whilst I am pleased to be getting my new tracker I hope I will not be having to do this all again as I have noticed a lot off people are having similar experiences

Let me guess your still under warranty? it's what they do when they don't know how to fix something.

Did you try a factory reset with only the first firmware update?  Don't take the  second update.  See if that works.

If not then you've got bigger issues.

Factory reset is just above the shut down on the about page
