I somehow knocked my Versa in the toilet. It was not in there long. I fished it out and it no longer works. Inlet it dry in rice all night and it is a brick. It is 5 weeks out of warranty. They will not help me except to offer a 25% discount on a replacement. Someone explain to me how something that is supposed to be water resistant to 160 feet, can not be in a toilet bowl for more than 2 minutes??

Hi, @STACIEVANDAM , I cannot answer your specific question, except that toilets may very well have chemical residues and other deposits that would certainly not be found in a shower, swimming pool etc. However, if it is 5 weeks out of warranty, then it likely would not be replaced in any case. Fitbit is offering you the 25% discount because you are a returning customer who has experienced an issue with an out of warranty Fitbit.
I would suggest holding it under running water for at least five minutes to hopefully remove any chemicals and bacteria, then put it back in rice for several days (if there is water inside, overnight in rice is not nearly long enough). Make sure it is completely covered, and do not attempt to charge it until it has been drying for at least 3 days and as many as 5.
If it should revive, I would recommend surface cleaning it thoroughly using rubbing alcohol and drying with a soft cloth before wearing it again, for hygiene reasons.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
