Versa not showing quick reply option

I am thinking I missed a setting somewhere. Because since I got this replacement and it's been updated, it seems any text messages, I get will only give me the options of Open (open text message app on my phone so I can reply) or Close (actually dismisses the text on the tracker).

I don't have the option to quick reply, although I did at one point less than a month ago before I got my replacement. Any ideas anyone please? If it means anything, I am and have been using Textra with no issues until now. Thanks for any help.

@ChriFit@Kat_M  If you are using Textra there is a particular setting you need so that the Quick replies work.  Within the Textra App > touch the three dots in the upper corner and choose Settings > touch Customize Notifications > touch Define Notification Actions > under the Android Heads-Up Buttons set Button 1 to Mark Read, set Button 2 to Android Inline Reply, set Button 3 to Delete.  Textra Heads-Up Buttons are Not Used.  Your reply options should become available.

Remember that if you have the Conversation open a notification won't go through to you Versa.  To test, make sure you close the app first before asking someone to text you.

It's great to welcome you @ChriFit.

If you are not seeing your quick reply option, I recommend going to the notifications settings and check that the app you are using for your notifications have this feature on. For more information, you can take a look at the help article How do I respond to messages with my Fitbit watch?.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked all of that and my notifications settings are just fine. I get all of my notifications and texts/calls just fine. I just can't reply back to texts directly from the phone .It doesn't even matter which text messaging app I use, even the default one, it still isn't working.

The odd thing about it? The feature was working perfectly before I had to get this replacement. Had no problems whatsoever.

Hey !!

Okay, i wasnt using the textra app but considered your idea about going in to settings and needing to "allow" quick replies in 3rd party apps.  It had me ripping out my hair with whatsapp and fit notifications.

I was using fit notifications with a previous model watch to the versa to allow more functionality.... and until recently like Chris my quick replies were working fine.  Then just open or dismiss.

After a few days of fiddling here and there and adjusting and readjusting apps... reinstalling fitbit unpairing, repairing....  I uninstalled the third party app fit notificatons.... and all of a sudden my watch and quick replies are working JUST FINE!!!

I dont know what changed and why exactly, an update, an interface... some other technical jargon..... what I do know is "fit notifications no longer compatible"

Thanks guys for the thoughts,  it got me in the right direction..   !!!!

@bmccray33 Textra is a texting app available in the Play Store that is very customizable and popular. It does require some settings adjustment to work with the Versa quick replies.

@Carl34  Correct me if I'm wrong, but, isn't iMessage an Apple messaging app?  If so, Quick Replies aren't available for Apple phones.  As I understand it, Apple has not opened up the programming to make that available to Fitbit.

how can i use Quick Replies on My iPhone? I enter notifications and words Quick replies do not leave the bold to be able to use. how can I do it

At this point in time your iphone is not compatible with fitbits quick
reply system. Apple operates a closed ecosystem which simply doesnt allow
it. You can buy yourself an apple watch or an Android phone.
Like everything Apple, it doesnt work with anything else thats not an
Apple.

I am using the Textra app, and recently figured out how to get the Quick reply working with my Versa, thank to help from you!

But my next question is, after sending the quick reply with my Versa, do i not see the reply on my phone messaging conversation?? The conversation is continued without my reply via Versa quick pick. is that another setting in Textra? TIA!

@lacyc1  While that has happened to me occasionally it doesn't happen often and isn't the norm. There aren't any more settings in Textra that I'm aware of. Is the conversation closed on your phone? It could be that your phone is different from mine and that explains it. Sorry I'm not more help.
