Versa not tracking Mileage on exercise

My Fitbit Versa stopped connecting via GPS and doesn't capture mileage on bike exercise.  Is there anything to do?  It's less than 2 years old.   DLBbiker

That's the exact reason I'm here today. When I first got my Fitbit Versa 2, I didn't even know you could connect to GPS for tracking mileage. After I did find out and got it setup it was great. My tracking got buggy right after the newest update a month or so ago. It connects but won't keep track correctly, or more recently it drops the connection partway through a bike ride. It's almost like it does a pause then will not restart, right in the middle of my ride. Oh, my watch is also less than 2 years old. I've tried resetting everything I could, nothing works. Looks like I need a new support ticket.

Hello! I'm new to the Fitbit community, but I came here to (hopefully) get an answer to the same problem it seems you're having with mileage tracking. I'm curious as to whether you've gotten an answer, and, if so, can you tell me if it fixed the problem? I'm very frustrated. My husband and I ride bikes several times a week, and my Versa 2 used to be great about tracking my mileage. However, in the last couple of months, it won't track mileage, only time. I've restarted my watch and phone multiple times with no success. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to get my tracking to work. I did a full shutdown of my versa 2 via settings on the watch, I then went to apps settings on my phone. I hit clear data and cleared all data in the app, I then went to my Bluetooth settings and unpaired the Versa 2 and my phone. Yes the Versa 2 was off, but I wanted the Bluetooth on the phone to start fresh. I restarted my phone and then restarted the Versa 2. I then tried to reconnect the two, this was successful and my mileage, route and time are now recorded correctly. I have no clue which actions were really necessary, but the end result was worth it, and it all can be done in less than 10 minutes. Hope this helps.
