Versa not tracking all my steps

I have been using this new Versa my daughter got me for Christmas and it is not counting all my steps, I can walk all the way from one end of the house to the other and zero steps have been counted and this is happening more often than not.  Please help

@JessiesGirl28 There are several things you can do:

 

  • reboot your tracker several times by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  • open fitbit mobile app, tap on Versa icon, scroll down to Wrist Placement and make sure Non-dominant is selected (if you're left handed)
  • while on the main screen of your Versa, swipe up to open Today app. Check if the steps are being displayed there (press the left button once to exit). It could be that the watchface is not getting refreshed with your steps in real time but the steps themselves are still being recorded.

I've lost thousands of steps today because I went on a substantial hike that my fitbit did not record at all.  I always log a great deal fewer steps than others on the same walk the whole time I've owned it but today I easily lost 7000 steps.  It says I did 483. I do more than that sitting on my butt all day at home.
