My versa charges for a few hours before it shows fully charged, then dies within the hour. It doesn't show any tracking in the watch but shows on my phone. I've reset it a few times and still doesn't work properly. It's not even a year old and started acting up at 5 months after purchase.

Can you try changing to a standard Fitbit clock and see if that resolves the problem.

I never changed the clock so I'm assuming it's the standard clock

Have you tried restarting your watch
Shut down the watch [ Swipe left, Settings, at the bottom, About, at the bottom, Shutdown]
wait a minute
[Hold the button for up to 10 seconds till it vibrates or logo appears] Wait for the clock to reappear. |
You can check if you clock face is Layers
In the phone Fitbit App Click on profile photo [top left] Device photo [middle left] Click Clocks facesTile Tap on the clock to see its name |

hmm that seems kinda odd. I just got my Versa 2 not that long ago and haven't had issues.

Quite frankly I would get it replaced as faulty or contact Fitbit Support They may be able to help you.
