I have spoken to a couple people on the phone at fitbit about this issue and it still isn't working.
When I go on a run or a walk I connect my watch to my phone until it says GPS connected and then I start the run when I finish the run a map comes up but its straight lines and not any sort of route I've done. Is it the watch that is the problem and what can I do for it to give me a proper route of my run.

There are a few things to check,
that your watch remains paired with the phone throughout the run or walk, when you get back check
In the phone Fitbit App Click on profile photo [top left] Device photo [middle left] - it will say when last synced next to it, should be recent
Also see, Sync - See when last synced Try refresh by touching circle it should say "a moment ago" |
If there is some form of corruption in the app, try
Logout of the Fitbit app
In Android phone Settings Apps Fitbit clear Fitbit storage cache [not data] force Fitbit shutdown [though it doesn't seem to fully go away]
Login again and check after the next exercise. |

Ever since January 25, 2021 when there was a device update for my Samsung phone this has happened. I have tried rebooting my Versa 2 and phone as suggested which didn't work. I also tried turning my WIFI off when using GPS as was suggested but that didn't work either. Was thinking of trying to change location setting for app from only in use to all the time. Although I am worried it may drain my phone battery.

Did you perform the actions in the previous post?
And yes make the change for the location setting.
