I am new to the Fitbit world. I bought a Fitbit Versa and love it. However, it doesn't appear to work with the Samsung Note 9 phone I just got. I wanted to use it in cycling mode but that didn't seem to work. The Note 9 is a new phone. Is Fitbit not yet set up do do this activity with the Note 9? If that's the case....when might it be? I'd really like to track my exercise with the Fitbit. Thanks!

Hey @jrlyle, welcome to the Community and congrats on getting a Fitbit Versa. Well, this phone model that you have, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is not on the compatible devices link, so I can't guarantee that will be able to setup/sync, get notifications or use connected GPS with it and your Versa. However, you can try the tips in this help article: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device? to try to solve this and use the GPS feature to track your bike.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

My phone and Fitbit device synch fine. But I cannot get the GPS functionality to work. So when I bike it doesn't display distance, etc.
I know now that the Note9 is not on the Fitbit compatible device list. But I'm hoping that it will be (soon) at some point. Does anyone know if the Note9 will eventually be a compatible device with the Fitbit Versa?
Thanks!
John

I went to the noted Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device? information...and it suggested that folks turn their wi-fi off to use the GPS functionality. I did that and then it seemed to work much better. Granted I chose cycling...and I was only walking around. It did continually pause though. I'm not sure if that's because I was walking around or if this is just part of the Note9 not being compatible at this time. I do hope that the Note9 will eventually be fully supported by the Fitbit folks!

Uninstall the Fitbit app on the note 9. Go to Google play store and reinstall it and then set up all notifications again
As long as you have all of your email accounts installed on the Samsung email app, the versa will sync with all including Microsoft Exchange
Text and calls will too. Calendar isn't syncing unfortunately. But Fitbit has an agenda app that will sync with your gmail calendar for 10 days at a time

Hello! Is the Samsung note 9 able to receive text and call notifications from the versa?

I, too, have a samsung galaxy note 9 and untill a could of days ago, my versa synced with my phone, now it dont, it wont let me log in on my samsung, lol, but I went into my fitbit account and for some reason there is a weird email address in there, I have been with fitbit for several years and always had the same email address, when I went to change it, it told me that I had the wrong password, which I know is right, lol.
I have contacted live chat and they have forwarded my concern to a different department, lol.

@Khoeschen9813 Make sure that Preview of the message for your messaging app is enabled - go to your messaging app settings, and enable Preview on the screen. By default, Samsung phones have it disabled, which means message can't be seen on the phone's screen and Versa cannot read it.

@Khoeschen9813 Are you not getting notifications or can't simply read them on your Versa?
Regarding Call Notifications, go to your phone's settings, date and time, and make sure auto-time is turned on. Also, again go to settings on your phone, scroll down to Apps, tap and open Application List. Tap on the three dots in the right top corner, and select Show System Apps. Scroll down through the app list to something like Call Management. This might be called differently on your device. Open it and tap on Notifications. Make sure that Incoming calls are set to Urgent or High.

@Khoeschen9813 does your Versa sync without issues? When was the last sync?

@Khoeschen9813 are the notifications on in your fitbit mobile app (tap on versa icon and scroll down to Notifications)? If yes, turn them off and enable again with a sync in-between. Are the notifications ON on your Versa? Long press the left button to access quick menu and make sure the notifications are ON. if yes toggle ON/OFF/ON and reboot the tracker.

@Khoeschen9813 No. You're looking under Account. When you open the main window of Fitbit app you should see a little picture of Versa. Tap on it to access Versas settings. There you will find Versas notifications.
