Versa notifications not working again

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Notifications do not work consistently. On Thursday I missed an important text that I would have responded to quickly, but no notifications so no quick response from me. I went through the steps to get notifications working again and they worked fine on Friday and Saturday. This morning, Sunday, notifications are not working. I changed nothing on my Versa or phone overnight. This is very frustrating.

Yesterday I installed the latest update to Fitbit Android app. I got notifications working. This morning in an attempt based on hope versus experience I checked to see if notifications were still working. They were not. At this point I am very discouraged. What is the point of going through the routine to get notifications to work when it doesn’t last. I have reset or otherwise manipulated my Versa almost daily trying to get notifications to work and to keep working. I have had the Versa since May. Three days is the longest that notifications have worked without intervention on my part.

I've been having the same issue nearly every day / every second day for the last month.  This is very frustrating - am considering taking my versa back for a refund.

So as per others on here, reset Versa, delete all devices from Bluetooth and re-add.  Re-set up notifications, re-pair device, restart iPhone - a mix of all of these usually fixes it eventually but then it is not reliable and you don't realise you're not getting the notifications until you look at your phone & go What The... again!

Iphone 6sPlus, Versa, all latest IOS & Fitbit updates installed.

Please fix..........I actually like the look of my Versa however not receiving notifications is too much.

Hazmunkey, I find that keeping all day sync turned on helps....I can get two or three days without a reset. In fact, I am starting my one week countdown again today. I keep hoping to get to post a got notifications to hold for an entire week without resetting.

Thanks for the tip Happygrrl, I have previously tried that as well it's just that I prefer to manually sync for battery life.  I'll turn it back on and see if I too get more than one day of notifications working.

Thanks 🙂

Oh getting so close to my hoped for one week with no interventions on my part. This morning call notifications did not work, text notifications did.

Yes same here - got about 4 days then yesterday it stopped again.  Re-did all Bluetooth settings yesterday - re-paired & re-synced etc, and got about 8 hours of notifications.  Today not working again.  Have done all settings again but hasn't worked (sync is still set to all day).  Restarted iPhone, reconnected Bluetooth & re-paired, still not working.  Will try again later - I'm at work and this is too time consuming.

FitBit - can you please address this in the next update..........

My notifications have been fairly stable lately and I haven’t had to go through the reset routine every couple of days. Has anyone upgraded their app to 2.77?  Fortunately, I skipped the upgrade right before 2.77 and did not have to experience those problems. I am not seeing a lot of talk about issues with 2.77 so I may go ahead with it.

My notifications are not working and have not been in a few days. I cannot figure out how to fix this issues. I have done everything that was suggested in previous boards.

I upgraded to Android app 2.77 and notifications are still working! Hooray!  I have had 2.77 for a couple of days now and no issues.

I even turned off all Day sync and got notifications.

Great News Happygrrl, I have had success too for the last couple of days too.  I will see how long I get and if it stays working, I will try turning off the all day sync too as I didn't really want that on anyway.

Same here. Notifications only work for 1-2 days then nothing. I’ve called support and they’ve got it working with a long procedure but it’s not a fix. Thinking of Truing another brand since it’s only 2 weeks old. My $39 Letsfit was more reliable! I’d be willing to wait for a software update if I know about when it was expected.

My wife is having this problem with her Fitbit Versa also.   VERY frustrating!   I was planning on buying one of these when I replace my current pebble time (which works FINE with all notifications)

Her Versa will receive calls and WhatsApp notifications,  but won't get text notifications. When she factory resets, it will work for a couple days and stop. Not reliable at all! She's ready to toss it.   Has already started recommending people find another solution for notifications.

I’m not sure when I posted this but everything is fine now. Firmware and software upgrades have vastly improved the Versa since I got it a year ago!

It is so discouraging to see these problems going on for over a year! Sometimes notifications work, sometimes they work longer when I restart my phone but then they just stop again. Enough with the restarting, installing, uninstalling, restarting - please just FIX the problem! It's coming up on prime shopping season, Fitbit, you don't want all of us to tell everyone to steer clear I assume, now's the time for remedy!

This is driving me crazy. I also hate having Alexa on my Versa 2. I think I will have to return it and go back to my Charge 2

Since the update last week I now have to re-pair my Fitbit Versa every day - today I am already on my second re-pair. I had the same dramas a while back but it rectified and I've been good for a few months - makes me guess it is the latest App Update.

Please fix asap as this is very frustrating.

UPDATE - now I am having to re-sync (Bluetooth, Forget this device, re-pair) my Versa watch to my iPhone 6s Plus several times a day.  FitBit team - please help - this is so frustrating.

I too have had problems since the update.  I had my Versa Lite for about 2 weeks and everything was working perfect until the update.  Now, in the last 48 hours I have tried EVERYTHING that I have read on community bulletin boards and what your response was!  And still NOTHING!  Getting extremely upset and ready to send it back for a refund and get a Samsung Smartwatch!  This needs to be resolved as soon as possible.  I use the versa lite while I'm at work and this is unacceptable!

Sorry to break it to you but I ended up buying an Apple Watch.  Not only did these sync dramas continually keep coming up - my watch face fell off - yes came apart & fell off.  It is supposed to be water proof - I never even wore it in the shower - I can't imagine how long it would have lasted if I actually swam with it or consistently got it wet.  It was out of warranty so nothing I could do.  I do expect a device that I pay a few hundred dollars for to last more than 1-2 years.  Anyhoo - much happier now as my new device works & actually has more functionality than the versa.  Get the refund 🙂

I also have a Galaxy S9 and it worked perfectly until the last update. None of the suggested fixes work.
