Versa's heart rate monitor malfunctioning

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? My heart rate is about 60-80 at rest. Since about three days ago, I have been noticing that my heart rate is tracking as 170-200 at rest on my versa.

I double checked this on a different device and sure enough, my heart rate is about 75. So why is the device registering so high?! The Versa registered that I burned over SEVEN THOUSAND CALORIES the other day... A day that I had only walked 6k steps, by the way.

I've reached out to fitbit a few times and they've been incredibly unhelpful, telling me they're working on it and to wait until the next update.

Any insight would be appreciated. I'm super frustrated and feel like I can't even use my watch as I typically do (i.e. weightlifting sessions, sleep quality, etc). Heart rate sensor has been turned off 😕

@StarC, thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit forums. By the way, I apologize for the delayed response.

Since your Fitbit Versa is not providing heart rate readings either, I'd like you to try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After trying these steps, monitor your watch and see if it tracks your heart rate properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome! 😀

I am having the same issue.

My normal resting rate is roughly 64

Fitbit has been reporting my heartrate is always 120+

Really throws off the calories count thinking im always in a fat burning zone.

Ive tried to restart device and turning HR monitor off and back on.

@alraune, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa is tracing high heart rate readings. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try one more workaround that has been helpful for this type of issues. Please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

Finally, monitor your Fitbit Versa for the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I did the factory reset.

Immediately after completing everything to set it back up it showed a resting heartbeat of 96, 97, 98, 99.

Resting heart rate is closer to 60-70

Just to make sure. I cleaned the back of the sensor and my wrist per the instructions with a cloth and same result when i put it back on.

Definitely not reading correctly or something.

I am experiencing a number of issues with this phone:

1 - heart rate continue to  malfunction

2- the charge used to last 3 to 4 days but now it does after 1 day

3 - the time keep changing on it's on

All of this started when upgraded

Not good

Whats the word on this FitBit Team?

Anything to resolve this?

Im just at 60 days owning the product and just two weeks outside my return date of the item to Bestbuy.
I like the device, just upset over the HR monitor. My FitBit Charge didnt have this issue.

I have had the same issue. Heart rate is way high and I checked it on another device and it is definitely incorrect. Should be 60-70 but reading 130-140. Started happening after swimming

I am having the same issue as well after swimming. I have swam with my versa on before and never had this issue. I have tried restarting and this did not fix it. Any other suggestions?
