Hi. I noticed a few days ago that my FitBit versa will not record my BPMs on my watch. I also noticed that the sensor on the back of the fitbit has not been working. How can I fix this? Thanks

Hello @Padrkt, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this to my attention. Since when have you noticed this situation? Have you restarted your Versa lately by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen? If so, I would like to suggest you the following:

  1. Go to the Settings app in Versa
  2. Scroll down and tap on Heart Rate to turn it off.
  3. Keep scrolling down and tap on About > Shutdown to turn off the Versa.
  4. Press the Back and Select buttons to turn on the Versa
  5. Go to Settings again and enable Heart Rate.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and monitor your Versa for the next few days to check that everything is working as normal. If there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

After having my Versa with no issues... and then seeing this post it has worked! I didn't have any idea you could shut down the Versa to begin with!! I will keep this in mind!

UPDATE:

Not sure why I never thought of this!!

My screen cracked in September-ish in my sleep with a screen protector (the protector was totally fine) Smiley Sad and so now its no longer waterproof which was the entire reason why I bought it on pre-order last year!

I wish the glass was made from Gorilla glass or at least higher quality... I may have to talk my husband into doing this hahaha

I appreciate you have taken the time to share your experience with us and letting us know restarting your Versa helped you with this situation. Now, when it comes to the screen, I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences this issue has caused you, please remember that we do not expect manufacturing issues to affect our trackers but that's why every Fitbit tracker comes a limited product warranty and in case you have inquiries or doubts about what it covers, you can check it on this article: Return Policy & Warranty.

Hello! I have tried all of the “fixes” in the app and have not been able to enter any of the selected links in the app for this issue. My sensor has completely stopped working today and I have only had my fit bit since January. It often goes out, but this is the first time the sensor has stopped completely. How can you fix this?

I too have the same problem. I've had my Versa for a year and the sensor just stopped working. The lights from the sensor are not on either. I've tried all the suggested fixes.

Hello, this still hasn’t resolved my problem unfortunately.
Are there any other options to get my heart rate back on my watch?

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue and the steps that you mentioned have not worked for me.
I've tried restarting the watch using power button, also tried a factory reset; but to no avail.
The sensor light doesn't turn on!

Can you please suggest what I could do?

I too am experiencing the same issue. Sensor lights are completely out, no heart rate information shown on fitbit versa 2 for days now. Tried factory reset, shutting it off and on, turning heart rate off and on. And still nothing. Seems to be a factory issue if this many people are experiencing.

Hello,

as of recently (with in the last two weeks) my sensor has also just completely stopped working after having my Fitbit Versa 2 for a little over a year (got it in January of 2020.) the “factory reset” no longer works at fixing the problem. I saw a comment that said if this many people are having a problem then it must be a factory issue and I do have to agree. I use my Fitbit daily and swear by it so I am very disappointed. Hopefully they come up with a bug fix or an update that might be able to resolve the issue soon.

Afternoon, also having a problem with the bpm monitor, tried your steps to reset the device but without any luck

the device does not pick up the heartrate at all, the light on the back of the watch just shows a bright red light
