Versa screen damaged after drop

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had my Versa for less than 6 weeks.  Today, I dropped by accident from no more than 2 feet trying to put it in my golf bag.  The screen is now shattered and it is unworkable.  In calling I was told the standard explanation, you have to buy another one at a small discount.  What a waste of money!  For an activity based device, they should be more durable.  If they are not going to be, the purchaser should be told that time of purchase.  Also, a recommended screen saver should be made available.  I am sorry your company is so poor with customer support.

@r7717hart Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your damaged Versa. Thank you for contacting our Support team. Support does follow the guidelines listed in the warranty so if your device is outside the warranty period they won't be able to replace it. This is why they offer a discount to help customers in this situation. Still thank you for sharing your feedback.

Let me know how it goes.

I already contacted support. Because the FitBit got dropped from about 2 ft. high, it is outside the warranty. I only had the FitBit for 6 weeks. Liked it until it is now with a shattered screen. The only option they gave me to was to replace it at almost full cost again. As you can tell, I am not very pleased to spend that much money and have this happen. I which FitBit warned and suggested what cell phones have done for years. I assumed that the material that was used on the screen was shatter proof.

Unbelievable that Fitbit doesn't repair or support cracked screens on the Versa!  However, they will offer

you 40% discount on the Iconic watch, but only a 25% discount on the watch I want to replace, which is the watch I just purchased 2 months ago, the VERSA!!!!   I have had several Fitbit's over the years and I have had a minor issues and I have always felt like Fitbit's customer service was poor.  Not only does Fitbit not repair cracked screens, they don't even sell screen protectors!!   Do your homework before purchasing a Fitbit product!

Fitbit should be embarrassed that they don't have a better policy, i.e repair the screen or 50% off another Versa!  Why would they only offer 40% on the Iconic and only 25% on another Versa!?!?  I'm guessing the Iconic's aren't selling too well!  Once again, I feel like I have been ripped off by Fitbit!
