I noticed yesterday that my versa’s screen was “seizing” and not responding. The screen would be on the clock face and shake back and forth as though it were attemptong to swipe even though it was not being touched. It also randomly opened the exercise and count apps. I did a reset with the left and right buttons a few times and it appeared to be ok. Today when i went om a run it began to do the same thing but despite multiple resets it now wont respond on the touch screen only through the buttons. I cannot do a reset through the versa settings menu because I cannot swipe to that screen. I’ve read some terrible reviews of the telephone customer support and hope that Fitbit is working on this issue.

Tracy, you could try the 3 button Factory Reset for when the Display is not available. Follow the instructions below PRECISELY because it is a tricky operation. Try it several times if necessary.
On the watch, hold all three buttons for about twelve seconds. This triggers the 2-button hardware reboot after about eight seconds.
- When the Fitbit logo appears, then disappears, release the bottom right button, then continue holding the left and top right buttons until you feel a strong vibration. This indicates the factory reset was initiated.
- This process may take several seconds, and eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays go to Fitbit.com/setup.
- If you fail to release the bottom right button in time or otherwise don't follow the procedure precisely , the Fitbit logo reappears quickly and boots without factory reset.

This is happening to my fitbit versa as well. In addition to it opening random apps, and shuffling through apps, it is not fully responsive to screen touch.
Today after many tries to move from screen to screen, I did the factory reset and it is still not responsive to touch.
Fitbit -- what is the next step? My first Versa was returned because the heart rate monitor quit working. I was so pleased to have great customer service, a new device sent, and it working again. I am really disappointed that there is a new issue.

ebradtke, it’s disappointing to hear that you’ve already had it replaced once and then the replacement doesn’t work. It sounds like Fitbit is having a quality issue with this product. I have read wonderful reviews and experiences, but there’s also this growing list of customers with similar product issues. I hope that the company takes steps to address these issues and improve their product. I’ve been a Fitbit user for 3 years now (Charge HR) and up until now had nothing but positive experiences.
I hope that your Versa gets fixed and you can enjoy the full features of your purchase. While mine worked it was great and really highlighted this companies unique and forward vision for health conscious wearables.

Own the Versa Fitbit but it has major issue for tracking of my sleep. It miss 1-2 hours at the beginning. If I gets up to go pee, then the Versa Sleep tracker stops doesn’t integrate previous sleep. So I got fragmented records of my sleep even though I slept continuously.
Secondly the touch screen has become non responsive. I keep tapping the screen but doesn’t respond to scroll to the next or return back.
Since touch was non responsive but somehow after several tapping I could restart versa Fitbit watch. Still didn’t resolve anything.
I went to jogging but failed to capture my from GPS my jogging track map.
I checked there was no update pending.
Anybody help me how to fix the touch screen, Sleep tracking and non functioning of the versa Fitbit watch

Mine did that after I charged it overnight. Within 4 hours all I have is a paperweight with a black screen of death. Mine is over the 1 year so no help from customer service except for $50 off a new one. Not worth my hassle. I'm probably going to get a galaxy watch instead.

My Versa is doing the same thing. Customer service won't do anything but offer a $25 credit. Clearly, Fitbit is counting on planned obsolescence to get customers to replace their devices yearly. I'm switching to Apple Watch.

My Versa is also randomly shutting down & shuffling through apps. This is the 2nd Versa that I have had in 1 year. I received this one as a replacement from Fitbit right after Christmas 2019 - so here we are 4 months later & another issue & I am told this Fitbit is no longer under warranty!!!! Unbelievable!!! I was offered a 25% discount code 🙄

I recently experienced this. I had my fitbit versa for 18 months & had never worn it in shower until yesterday morning. However it claims to be water resistant & says you can wear it to track swimming I do believe water is what caused my fitbit to bite the dust. I do not believe this is a coincidence. I was in a hurry yesterday & didn't take it off, by 3 in the afternoon my fitbit was toggling thru the screens & was behind time by an hour, & the battery was dying out at an increased rate. By the time my shift ended @9pm my fit bit was dead & will no longer charge back up. I had a versa 2 in my Amazon cart excited to upgrade on payday, but if a product that is advertised to track your swimming can't actually withstand the water it's exposed to during a 5 minute rinse down in the shower-- I now wonder what other areas expectations it doesn't actually live up to. I'm actually very sad over this.

I think that's why my screen no longer works. The alarms still work if it's charged. I'm so disappointed. An Apple Watch Series 3 is the same price as a Versa 2. I bet it's a lot more durable.

I never exposed mine to water & the screen just started going crazy. That was my 4th Fitbit! Only had that one since the end of December 2019 and to be offered at 25% discount was a huge disappointment. I decided to buy an Apple Watch. So far I’m happy with it.

Nothing they can do if you've had it over a year, and no extended warranty 😞

Did you end up getting the Apple watch? I don't have an iphone, so I just ordered a new Versa2, hopefully it lasts longer than the original Versa...just a little more than a year, and I wish I'd called them when it first started glitching, it would've been covered! I did get the 2 year extended warranty on the Versa2 I just ordered...fingers crossed it lasts a lot longer, and if not, I'll be done with Fitbit for good! 😞
