Versa screen won't turn on

My versa battery died, and wouldn't charge. So I came on here for advice, and restarted the device which worked and it charged. Then the same day, late at night, it buzzed on my wrist (as if reminding me to walk) and I looked at the screen and it was all weird then just went blank but with the backlight on. So I left it, and when I woke up the screen was black. It still connects to my phone and measures steps etc.

I've tried:

-changing the clock face

-restarting (nothing pops up on screen but it buzzed)

-factory reset

-customer support basically said too bad cause my device is 15 months old and offered me 25% off a new device

I don't plan to spend $200 on a new device every year, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Lauraemokes, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I'm sorry to hear that your Versa won't turn on or take a charge. I'm also sorry to hear that it's no longer under warranty. The warranty period is good for 365 days, starting from the date of the first setup.

I totally understand how you feel about this and we appreciate your feedback and comments since this helps us to keep improving.

I'll be around if any question arises.

Same for me, If you bought it with a credit card, they often extand the warranty and even double it. Hope it works for you. If you kept the receipt , proof of purchase etc. I might try with mine too. Call your credit card compagnie. I am not putting more money in a device that went black after their own update...they should fix this.
