Last year, I took a shower with my Versa and figured it would be okay since Fitbits are supposed to be water resistant up to 50 meters. Nope they are not! Went through the whole process of customer service and still dead. No lights, no screen, nothing, just dead. Okay, so they replaced it with another. That was last Jan (2019). Fast forward to this May (2020) and I was watering my garden and, oops, it got wet. I immediately took it off and set it to dry. Got back to it a few minutes later and the **ahem** thing was dead... again. Put it in rice. dead. Charged it overnight. dead. Can't reset it because it is dead.
Today I called Fitbit and they walked me through all the troubleshooting that I have already gone through and it is still dead. Then they tell me that I can get a 25% discount on a new Fitbit and because of their defect they will even cover my shipping cost!!! WTH??
Fitbit should not make the claim that their Versa is water resistant up to 50 meters when it cannot handle a shower or even a splash from a garden hose. This is a fraudulent claim they are making. Just read their community board and you will see many other folks who are trying to get their Versa to work after it has gotten wet. They are so sure of its water resistance that they have swimming as an exercise option. Do not swim with the Versa.
$200 down the drain. I will never buy a Fitbit product again.

Hi @lenoxshj, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Versa became unresponsive even after trying the recommended troubleshooting steps.
I'm also sorry to hear that your watch is no longer under warranty. The warranty period is good for 365 days, starting from the date of the first setup. I totally understand how you feel about this and we appreciate your feedback and comments since this helps us to keep improving.
I'll be around if any question arises.
