My versa is taking FOREVER to set up, it has already been over 4 hours and I am missing all my steps 😞

Hm, mine took 40 minutes, watched it the whole time although it updated twice. Found that kinda weird but it didn't take too long the second time. Try restarting the Fitbit App and charging your Versa.

I am going on 3 hours WTH !!!!! Did you find out why? TIA

Setting up my Versa took about 30 minutes via the app on my iPhone. The download takes probably 20 minutes of that, it then installs with the Versa restarting a couple of times. It seemed to pause a minute or two on the Fitbit logo with a green screen but finished OK.

The download speed will be dependent on your Internet connection, moving the Versa and device you are using the FitBit app on closer to your router may help with WiFi connection speed.

@TempestFire Everything you said sounds familiar especially the green screen. I used really crappy wifi and it only took 40 minutes. I don't know my house wifi password so I used my mom's which was at the smallest circle thing. So far, nothing seems to be broken or breaking. Hopefully, everyone's Fitbit will start working soon!!😃

I finally was able to update via WiFi. Bluetooth after two days was impossible at a snail's pace.

I switched my router to 2.4 GHz band, seems the Versa/Fitbit can't do 5 GHz.

Removed my screen timeout on my phone, left it on update screen.

Download took 20-30 minutes, installation a few minutes, and prior to sync completion my Versa was ready to go.

Supposedly WiFi setup is faster but that option failed multiple times.  I opened a chat session with support and they said wi-fi the way to go but forum posts suggest others had same problem I had.  Support said blue tooth update would be about 6 hours but I am 8 hours in and by status bar I think I have 8 hours to go. Please let everyone know method you were using to update firmware WI-fi vs Bluetooth.  I am betting most of us are forced to use Bluetooth despite support saying WI-fi is possible and faster.    Per support a wi-fi update of firmware would be ~30 minutes.

After multiple failed attempts to use WiFi to update/install on a new Versa, I defaulted to Bluetooth and it's working - very slowly, but surely. Elapsed time currently 2 hours, guessing another hour to completion.

mine is taking over 2 hours to set up and it is only 50% done.

I just got mine yesterday and charged it today but the download is also taking way to long.  I'm hoping this is normal.  I had no idea it would take this long.

I appreciate your patience with this.

Thank You! I took someone's advice on here and turned off WiFi and turned it back on and left both my phone & Fitbit out in the hall as close to router as I could get. (Both plugged in & charging) Then I went to bed. When I got up in the morning & looked at my phone my Versa was connected. All I had to do was press Done. Thankfully I got it working. I also deleted my Charge 2 account. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not! Thank you for checking in and following up!

Since setting it up though, it is not tracking my sleep,  This morning it said 1 hr. and a half. which I know for a fact is wrong.  I never had this problem not once with the Charge 2.  I don't know what to do other than return it.

@MsPittsburgh Thank you for getting back! Let me go ahead and find a solution for you. Please try restarting your tracker as described in this help article. After this, make sure that you are not wearing your Versa too tight. Finally, monitor your sleep tracking the following nights and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

What I tried last night was I set my Versa on "Sensitive" and this morning.....voila! That worked; It showed that I got over 8 hrs. sleep; Thanks for your help. I would suggest to others to do the same if they are having problems re: sleep tracking.

I have had the same issue with mine once, I thought in giving it another
chance since it is new... but it has its fault.
